Sunday and Half Way

Sunday
I've been here for 2 weeks now, and this place just keeps getting better and better, and I, feel better and better.
i had a muscular and neurological massage today with a guy called Frank. a big guy.
i didn't sleep very well last night, i was a little stiff, i'm rebuilding my muscles quickly and they are probably getting all tangled up somehow.

anyway, when i walked into the treatment room with Frank, i could barely get my feet on the bed, he had to lift me up. i quickly explained to him my symptoms, and he went straight into my legs. OUUUUUUUCCCCCCHHHHHHHHH
he was as rough as they come. he was not shy. singing away in country western, Oh Boy what have we got here, and drilling away into my muscles. i was screaming, and he was singing i hear ya. his fingers were like robots drilling into my nerves and waking between my bones. he gave a new definition to pain. a delicious kind of pain, when you know it's good for you. as he pushes on your pressure points, the nerve is tight and slowly loosens up. as it loosens, the pain goes away gradually. you just keep breathing slowly and try not to scream too much. But Oy Boy did it feel good. i was a new man. my toes were starting to move for the first time in 5 weeks, little nerves were popping loose, tingling sensation all over my body. I love Frank, he did not mess around, he got on with the job like a real pro, no pain no game. then he worked his way up through my back, and sorted my neck out too. what a Sunday treat.

a quick jump in the hot sea mineral water pool, relax those muscles and then lunch.

i rested in the afternoon chatting to other guests here. very chilled and relaxed day.

i've got some info for you on Food Combining
it's fascinating, why don't they teach us this stuff at school? so simple, but yet so important.

think of you digestive system as a motor way. it's approximately the length of your body. think of food as different types of cars, and there is only one lane.
first of all, drink your water 10-15 minutes before your food, then no water for 2 hours after your food. water dilutes all you digestive enzymes making the digestion process twice as difficult and less productive.

rule 1. Do not mix carbohydrates and protein. this is the most common eating habit. all vegetables are carbohydrates except for avocado, onions, garlic, ginger, and flowers, these are the bisexual ones..
dairy and meats are protein and are often eaten with rice, potatoes, bread. not that we should be eating these.
Peanut butter and bread, most cereal mixes, this is the vegetarian world etc...

it creates over 120 chemicals in the body, the main one being sulfate. the bad smell. these chemicals are considered the primary cause of most illnesses.

Protein should be consumed at lunch time mainly.

Rule 2. Fruits should be max 15% of your diet, only when you are healthy, on top form. anyone with diabetes or chronic disease should not eat any.
3 categories of fruits - 1 and 2 can mix, 2 and 3 can mix occasionally. better not mix. most fruits are picked unripe, to give it shelf life, makes sense, no? picking them unripe means they are not properly formed and nutritionally malformed.
Acid/ Citrus - Oranges etc..
Sub Acid - Most fruits
Sweet - dry fruits, dates. should only be eaten by athletes, highly exercised people.

if you are having fruit juice, dilute 90% water, 10% juice!

an interesting information. they have found a way to stop fruits to perish. they expose it to a certain radio wave which kills the living enzymes in the fruits, stops the fruit being alive. so the fruit looks the same as it should do, but its been neutralized. if you leave it on your kitchen top, it will slowly dehydrate, get smaller and just get old, it will not rot. there is nothing to rot, it's dead. this is how much they are tampering with food!

Rule 3. Fruits & Vegetables do not mix. they have different enzymes which should not be mixed. fruits are the fastest to digest 1.5 hrs, vegetables over 2.5 hrs.
tomatoes are fruits. it's another example of how the industry miss represents information. they should be eaten on their own.

Rule 4. Melon to be eaten on their own. it takes 15 minutes for a melon to go through the body.

Sometimes i think all this information might be just too overwhelming. you're probably thinking this is all impossible to follow.
the point is we have never ben thought how to eat healthy. everything we do is pretty much wrong and it's based on what the industry trying to sell us.
these guys have been doing 60 years of research into healthy eating, Food as a healing tool, they know what they are talking about.
the way i look at it is, we need to think about why we eat. if we want to eat because of taste and the "faux" feel good factor, then at least beware of what you are doing to your body. if you actually want to get a benefit, energy life from your food, then these points should be taken into account. it all make sense, it's mother nature. i clearly understand the concept that different types of food ie protein takes longer to breakdown and digest that let's carbohydrate. you don't mix diesel and petrol in the same tank, do you?

what they say here is
It's Not The Food In Your Life,
It's The Life In Your Food.

Hi Reza

Frank sounds like a cool guy!

Amazing you are feeling so much better, I'm so pleased. It feels like you have been away for longer than 2 weeks, but it's incredible you feel an improvement after such a short time.

Mum and I are off on holiday for a week tomorrow morning, really forward to getting out of London, especially after reading your blog. The weather is so awful here, really need the sun.

Look forward to hearing more,

Lots of Love

Rez,
Dad will be impressed with you calling him "dry fruits, dates. should only be eaten by athletes, highly exercised people" considering the number of dates he eats every day. And he thought he was being healthy cutting out sugar and replacing it with dates.

Great to read your blog on a daily basis. Can you offer a simple formula for an easy healthy diet that's practical for every day use.

Chelsea drew with Wigan tonight killing any chance of challenging Man U for the title. They were leading 1-0 only for Heskey to equalise in the dying minutes. Gutting for Chelsea supporters and Avram who was going a bit beserk on the touch line.

And Tiger Woods came 2nd at the US Masters in Augusta beaten by South African Trevor Immelman.

Can you also tell me whether Almond Milk has any calcium.

Look forward to everyone's participation as normal.

Keep up the good work and progress.
Lots of love
Moh

life changing stuff dave, when i think back at the hospital, it makes me feel sick. you remember those days!

i met someone that goes to Royal Marsden today. they arrived yesterday. she has cervical cancer and it has spread, similar stage as me, and they told her she has 4 months to live. that was last year. she just found out about HIppocrates and came over. i'm sure she will cure herself. but we were comparing notes, and it's identical. all the treatments, the doctors attitudes etc. you're just a number there, part of the statistics. so glad to be here
will check out the pictures, i'm also very glad i came. it was a very important family occasion to me. one that i did not want to miss. i'm gutted i missed my cousin's wedding, but there was no way i could travel to Paris. just getting in the car for 2 hours was hard work, let alone getting stuck in the mud!!!

Have an amazing time Sian, Frances. where are you going?

Moh, Dad was over the moon to hear my voice. i could feel it. i'm really looking forward to seeing him.
good news about Chelsea.
there are so many things you can eat, i will take you through it all. Greens have all the calcium you need. Sprouts are complete food. mother's milk has only 3% protein, and that's enough for a fast growing kid. if you want more protein, try quinoa milk, it's even nicer than Almond milk.

once you start changing your food, and feeling your body getting healthier, your taste buds start to change and you discover all this good food that you didn't know existed. everyday i'm learning a new thing, it's great and i feel great.

it's all in your head and what you've been conditioned to. when you went back to Iran, how quickly your taste buds changed, the same with France. you just got to think differently and want to have the will the live longer and a healthier life.

it's amazing when we buy a computer we read exactly what's in it. but the food we put in our body, we just stuff it down without thinking what;s in it. let the body deal with it. what a bad attitude.

not much to report today, i'm just feeling great and loving every moment of it. i wish i could walk and run around. would love to go for a run, feel the fresh air, get the blood pumping around my body. i miss my legs so much, the ability to move around at will, jump out of my bed rather than crawl out of it. but i will get there. i have to be patient, it will come. i'm moving my feet a lot more after that massage, little feelings coming back all the time. it's really encouraging.

everyone says 'm the happiest person on the campus, i'm always smiling, even when i'm in pain! i tell because i'm happy, i've saved my life. the feeling is incredible. if i'm not happy now, when will i ever be?

Boy Reza!

You sure know how to make a girl chock up!
You make me realize how we should all be happy at every stage of our lives. I know that what you're going through right now, is very different from what the rest of us have going on, but as you so honestly said: "if I'm not happy now, when will I ever be?".

That's the lesson I got from your blog today.
And what a valuable one. Thank you.

Power to you and all your being.
Love,
Nadereh

Hiya
Wow - that massage sounds great and what a fantastic place you are at. I bet it will feel like you dont want to leave at the end of it!

Moh took the words from my mouth earlier - do you have a kind of diet plan or example meal planner to add together all the things you have been teaching us?
Maybe its the analyst in me but I can see myself surrounded by charts and data trying to work one out and all the time you have one!!!

I am going to miss reading your blog for a few days now as I have a conference in Glasgow and cant take my laptop (stupid technology!)

Cant wait to hear more about your continued improvement - you will be running before you know it!- you are doing so well and are an inspiration.

Love
Emma xxxx

Salut mon cher cousin,

Hi Reza,

I know it's been many years and I'm sorry to be blunt but when Ardy sent me a link to your blog I thought oh God this will be morbid.

I couldn't have been more wrong reading what you have written and the effect it is having on you has been nothing short of inspirational!

It has made me consider my own life as you seem more alive than me.

I'm so pleased you are getting better!

(Don't enjoy the colonic irrigation too much)

All the best

For those who are interested this is what I found out about Almonds:

Almonds are high in protein, containing about 20%. One ounce contains 12% of our daily protein needs. Because almonds are a plant food, they contain no cholesterol.

Vitamin E, considered a powerful antioxidant with cancer-fighting qualities, is plentiful in almonds. They're also high in magnesium, containing even more than spinach.

Almonds are abundant in phosphorus, which is good for bones and teeth. One ounce (28 g) contains 143 mg of phosphorus. They also contain potassium, iron, zinc, copper, manganese, and trace amounts of the B vitamins thiamin and riboflavin.

Almonds are higher in calcium than all other nuts. One ounce (28 g) of raw blanched almonds contains 66 mg calcium. One ounce of almonds, approximately 20 to 25, has as much calcium as 1/4 cup (59 ml) of milk.

Almonds are also higher in fiber than any other nut. One ounce (28 g) of blanched almonds contains 1.5 g fiber. Unblanched almonds are nearly double the fiber as blanched. If you are pregnant, almonds can be a nutritious way of preventing certain birth defects because of their high folic acid content.

Although almonds, like all nuts, are high in fat, they are very low in saturated fat. One ounce (28 g) contains 15 g fat with only 1 g saturated. Most of the fat in almonds is monounsaturated, considered beneficial fat.

I hope this is of some use.

Reza,
It’s great to read everyones' messages of support....I guess the fact you have so many people who care about you is only a credit to you. I still find it hard to believe how your world has changed this past year. I know it’s been so tough. I don’t think any of us who have not had cancer can fully appreciate what it must be like. Some would have let it beat them, but not you. One thing that has always amazed me about you Dehghani’s is that you are made of some tough stuff...you and Moh haven’t had things easy. It was ten years ago that I first thought you were unique in your approach to life....you didn’t feel sorry for yourself or dwell on things and instead focused on living and took from life everything it had to offer...creating your own clothing brand, travelling the world and collecting many admirers along the way, to name a few. You and Moh are teaching me about life all the time. The future is so exciting!!!
